28 lenders and issuers indexed · 12 buyer-beware

Do we have anything on this lender?

Type the name off a mailer, a text, a search result, or a loan offer. We’ll show what we’ve published about them — and if we haven’t published anything, exactly how to check yourself.

Short answer

Type a lender, credit card issuer, or loan company’s name to see what Credit Defense Hub has on file: whether we’ve flagged them buyer-beware, and why, from our own published research. No match doesn’t mean safe — it means we haven’t researched that name yet. Verify any unlisted lender directly with your state regulator, the CFPB, and the FTC.

Search for a lender or card issuer

Type at least 2 characters — a brand name, a shortened form (“Cap One,” “Navy Fed”), or the legal name off a mailer or loan offer. Covers 28 lenders and card issuers today.

One index, three sources

Every result here already exists on this site — as a personal-loan provider, an auto-loan provider, or a credit card issuer — merged into one searchable list.

The verdict, up front

A buyer-beware hit shows the exact published number or record that flagged the lender — never a vague warning, and never an offer.

No match isn’t a clean bill

Most companies, and nearly every scam, aren’t in any small index. A miss here hands you the real, official ways to check instead of a false all-clear.

What’s actually in this index

This tool searches 28 lenders and issuers today: every credit card issuer with at least one currently published card on this site (9), plus every personal-loan and auto-loan provider in our verified rate research (19 more institutions loan-only or shared with the card side). Nothing here is fabricated for this page — coverage, verification status, and buyer-beware flags are all read from the same datasets that already drive our loan research and our card reviews.

An expired research pull never surfaces a stale figure through this tool: if a loan dataset passes its re-verification deadline, every provider in that file drops out of search here at the same moment it drops out of the pages it came from, until it’s re-checked against the lender’s own current page.

A search finds a lender by its brand name, common shorthand (“Cap One,” “BofA,” “Navy Fed”), or the legal name printed on a loan document — case and punctuation don’t matter. Being listed, and not being flagged, is never this site’s claim that a lender is legitimate; it only means what it says: this specific figure, on this specific date, did or didn’t cross a specific, published line.
