About
About Credit Defense Hub
Why this site exists
When people search for help with credit report errors, debt collectors, lawsuits, or bankruptcy, most of what they find is either dense government text, attorney advertising, or content built to sell credit repair subscriptions. The information gap is worst exactly when people are most stressed and least able to afford a mistake.
Credit Defense Hub exists to close that gap: plain-English, source-backed education covering the whole journey — from the first error on a credit report, through collections and lawsuits, to bankruptcy and rebuilding — with no shame, no fear tactics, and no sales pressure.
Who it helps
People with errors on their credit reports. People getting collection calls and letters. People who received a validation notice or were served with a lawsuit. People weighing bankruptcy, and people rebuilding after it. If that’s you: the education here is free, and it stays free.
What we will never do
We will never promise a credit score outcome, claim to remove accurate information, sell “secret loopholes,” bury the risks of a tactic, or pressure you toward any decision — including bankruptcy. We also don’t give individualized legal or financial advice, because a website can’t responsibly do that. Where a licensed professional is the right answer, we say so plainly and point you to free and low-cost options.
How content is made
Every legal, credit, or bankruptcy page is built from official and primary sources — the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Courts, and the statutes themselves — with a visible Sources section. Pages show last-updated dates, carry legal-risk classifications internally, and are flagged for professional review before and after publication. The full process, including how we use AI assistance and how corrections work, is documented in our editorial standards.
Who actually stands behind that process is on the record, not implied: see who writes and reviews this site. That page names its founder and states plainly that no subject-matter reviewer is active yet — we would rather say that clearly than post a badge we have not earned.
How this site makes money
Credit Defense Hub is supported by advertising and, where a partnership exists, affiliate commissions on card and loan links — we are open about that instead of pretending it doesn’t happen. As of today that program has zero active partnerships: every card and lender link on the site points at the issuer’s own page, untracked. See the full advertiser disclosure for the current state of that program and how it’s marked when it changes.
The part that matters more than the disclosure itself is the firewall behind it: card scores, category rankings, and the buyer-beware list are set by a published, versioned methodology using numeric, public criteria — decided before any partnership exists and never adjustable by one. A partner cannot buy a higher score, a better rank, or a place off the buyer-beware list. Commissions attach only to whether a reader clicks and is approved, never to what we say about the product.
Relationship to Credit Llama
Credit Defense Hub is published by the team behind Credit Llama, a self-guided workspace for tracking the identity-defense steps you take yourself — credit freezes, fraud alerts, and data-broker opt-outs. That relationship is disclosed here and anywhere Credit Llama appears on this site. The education here stands on its own: you never need an account, and our editorial standards apply regardless of whether you ever use Credit Llama.

Educational information — not advice
This page provides general educational information about credit, debt, and consumer protections. It is not legal advice, financial advice, or credit repair services, and reading it does not create any professional relationship. Laws, procedures, deadlines, and dollar amounts vary by state and change over time.
For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed attorney or qualified financial professional. See our full disclaimer.
